Aqua Blue Sport: the season heats up

This year’s racing season is heating up quickly. Team Aqua Blue Sport (aka, “the Boys in Blue”) are already off the start line and pushing hard.

Last week’s debut at Cadel Evan’s Great Ocean Road Race in Australia, saw Conor Dunne grab the KOTM jersey in the single stage event. Off the front for most of the day, Dunne was eventually engulfed by the peloton in the final laps, but secured the Polka Dot jersey for his heroic efforts.

Next week the action really takes off, as the Boys in Blue will be contesting two major events on opposite sides of the Globe. Starting at the 5-stage Dubai Tour, an eight man squad, led by Adam Blythe, will challenge the Middle-East opener. Aqua Blue Sport are one of 16 teams participating in the race.

Almost simultaneously, Team Aqua Blue Sport will field the same seven man team from last week at the Jayco Herald Sun Tour, led by 2013 Sun tour winner, Calvin Watson. Sun Tour is the last of the Australia’s three UCI races in January and February. The five-day event has traditionally offered an opportunity for the cream of young Australian cycling talent to compete against some of the best riders in the world.

As the racing ramps up, we’ll be posting stage by stage updates via facebook, twitter and instagram, and you can always follow Team Aqua Blue Sport’s event calendar to keep track of the Boys in Blue.

Allez!
